Project Description
1. Epithelial and mesenchymal cell migration on curved substrates. Our preliminary results indicate epithelial cells and mesenchymal cells have different preferences on negatively curved substrates. Here we would like to use the same cell and induced epithelial- mesenchymal-transition to observe their preferences. We would further perform omics analysis and molecular perturbation to understand why epithelial and mesenchymal cells respond to curvature differently.
2. Cell volume analysis Our preliminary results indicate cells have smaller volumes in 3D and we would like to build the image analysis pipeline using machine-learning based method to analyze cell volumes with high throughput.
