My lab applies a group of migratory cells named border cells (BCs) as a model to investigate collective cell movement. BCs are derived from anterior follicle epithelia of Drosophila egg chambers, migrate as a cluster to invade through nurse cells and reach the oocyte border in stage 10 of oogenesis, which makes it an elegant model to explore basic mechanisms in collective invasion.
