The project will involve organic synthesis and catalysis. The topic can be flexible and fit to the student's interests, including (but not limited to) synthesis of graphene nanoribbon as nano-electronic materials, development of boron-based homologation method for automated organic synthesis, green catalysis methods to convert waste fatty acids into useful monomers, catalytic C-C bond activation, etc.
